Christ said we are to help the poor and fatherless, nothing about starving your family to pay tithing. It is terrible to make the poor pay tithing when they should be the recipients. Fear and coersion is the church's way to ensure a continuous ATM. Can't get into the temple unless you pay up, like some kind of elite club. That is not God's way.

I appreciate Mr. Larsen's observation, however my observation, first hand, during the first few months of the plandemic revealed to me the same truth....in a much more direct and simple revelation. A week or two after the Moroni statue had fallen and celestially "disappeared" from the Salt Lake temple during the morning earthquake downtown, the plandemic was underway full force with the patriotic national guard standing/sitting at a semi-half parade rest quazi guard duty post on most downtown intersections north of 600 south and south of the capitol. There was much confusion given the earthquake, the missing holy idol, civil unrest and of course the mark of the beast event of the millenia itself ("The flu which must not be named!"). So as I was living in my overland SUV with my German Shep service dog at the time, with no place to call home other than a rooftop tent...I took no part in the activities sponsored by our wonderful and thoughtful world government. My reasoning was, because the festivities were quite literally stupid to me, as an onlooker and not a participant. I watched in fascination as early on in the carnival ride I noticed, as we all did, my local "Smith's" grocery store mandated masks and I was told to leave. That's not the part that scared me. What scared me was..how quickly this behemoth of a grocery chain had project managed wonderful colorful little footprints for the store floors, telling customers in which direction to walk for each aisle. This, along with signs, posters, commercials for digital tvs in store, all very professionally designed, layed out and printed--- were revealed to the Salt Lake Valley (and little did I know at the time...the world) in just a few days time. Smith's, Home Depot, Pawn Shops, Gas Stations...all of them had the same wonderful carnival signs and footprints. In a few days time. What coordination indeed. So, on to my point. A day later, The LDS church announced that members should stay home and doors would be shut, until the 6th seal of the apocalypse was concluded, of course. My observation was bluntly this.... So your telling me that, 1. Every grocery chain in the free world managed to coordinate and release a global marketing campaign consisting of pretty footprint stickers...informing customers in which direction to walk in just two days. 2. The holy relic was still missing 3. The temple was damaged from a rare earthquake 4. The National Guard was posted up in our hometown. 5. OH and don't forget, the cough cough. And what does the prophet, seer and revelator command his people to do? Yeah. Shut the doors, don't congregate too loud, quietly accept the mark of the beast at your local Walgreens please...oh and while your at it...please continue to pay tithing. I drove to Moab the next week with Grizzwold my dog. And we spent a wonderful, glorious and free 3 years camped out in the desert....praying to God, on our own..just fine. Amen

Sure, he MAY have had some confusion and weakness, I ask; who doesn't somewhere along the lines in their mortal walk?? IT'S STILL HEARSAY. There were so many detractors the waters are ridiculously muddied and we're dealing with a serious case of the game of telephone. Think of your experiences with rumors and how they get twisted. None of us were there! Even if it were true, this doesn't mean that Joseph Smith was not a Prophet of God. There's far too much evidence indicating that God actually did use him to re-establish His truths, His power and authority, and His People/Kingdom to be a righteous force and beacon of light in this darkening world. Search for the evidences there are many! Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Hang on to the good and set the rest on the shelf for later revelation & understanding. 🕊️🤍🕊️

"As a man thinks, so he is"?!!! Quote from the Book you follow. A true proverb in my experience. So for me this was my moment in Church when a woman stood up and quoted this short verse, it cut through my heart centre, I knew I could not go on pretending but needed to 'own' myself. I have come to believe the teachings of the so called 'church' all of them, are fake, wrong and untrue, the story does NOT make any sense when you stand back and take a rational view? Those of you who bother to read this may strongly disagree, but my attempts on my life at 16 are testament to this evil, judgemental and heartless religious philosophy, yes we should love one another and forgive that which is appropriate to forgive, there are however exceptions, natural law from our concision's tells us if we let it and do not block it with these harmful teachings, they nearly cost me my life!! My hateful deeply religious Father never loved me, he tried to strangle me while my Mother watched in the door way, he was extremely strong, a farmer, in the moment i screamed in his face just as he was overpowering me: "YOU NEVER LOVED ME" at that he let go and they both sleeked away, this was never mentioned again and no one knows what i went through, no one to turn to, death seemed the only way out as i did not have the courage to run away and no where to go! So this guy speaking makes no sense to me, he is not seeing it for what it is, he is trying to justify the narrative because, like i was, he is brainwashed by this poison, i feel very sorry for him, after 7 decades i now understand how it is meant to be, life teaches us if we are willing to learn. Life is hard, so now i count my blessings every day, my mindful meditations help ground me in reality, to stay in the present, to love those i come into contact with and not judge, in this my soul is at peace as an out gay man, so what, i love him as much, if not more than , as some men love their wife, girlfriend or partner. Love wins yet is not weak. namaste

When groups discover they are wrong and their beliefs are not true there is a choice. The ones that choose to lie and say it is true and teach others that it is true may be entering into evil. I grew up seeing different groups accuse each other and the methods and arguments showed anger and some hatred. Let me put it this way all the Christian groups harbor some lies and distortions and many among them know all about it. They all live in glass houses and they are all throwing stones. Believe but stay away from the groups. I think the more people that are in a group the greater chance there is some bad things going on.

I am so proud of those who leave the Mormon church. The only thing I fear is that they don't REPLACE those terrible doctrines with the TRUE Doctrines found in the bible. I believe LEAVING is the FIRST STEP, but finding TRUTH in the BIBLE is the MOST important. (without all those crazy things in the Book of Mormon, and all the other apostate books they read.)

I was amazed. The whole medical profession declassified homosexuality as an illness in 1973. I would leave the church totally yesterday and never go back. I am gay, medically proven during electronic shock therapy. I was a Baptist Pastor and told I am not welcome to even attend church. I was married to my accepting wife for 51 years and I cared for her with MS for 26 years before she passed. I am now free to be the gay man I always was. But I'm too old now to look for a husband/pastor. My adult kids are very accepting.

I grew up Mormon and at least the church I went to if you did anything you felt you needed to repent for whether it was sexual, word of wisdom related etc. we were told it's up to you what you want to share because that is between you and God. However if you feel a need to repent don't take the sacrament until your sinning behavior is fixed. The only time I was ever asked about sex, drugs etc. was by the Stake President dealing with a temple recommend for baptisms for the dead. Even then it was just an honor system. I haven't been in over 30 years. I was bored with it. Was 19 and was supposed to go on a mission but never really believed the religion part. The people are mostly quality people the kind you want as a neighbor. Some of my Bishops were far better at relating than others but that's just how people are. A bishop in the Mormon church has to be the most difficult assignment in the church. He has to decide who to help, talk to a wide range of people, deal with finances etc., put together the weekly meeting and still run his personal life. Not a job I would want.

As I watched this video I could not get out of my head that Benji Schwimmer should not throw stones, the old adage, those who live is glass houses should not throw stones. He said he protested gay marriage thus actively went out of his way to make things at least more difficult for the LGBTQ community. I am not saying what the LDS faith has/is doing to anything right but both Benji and the LDS church have done the same thing, actively sort to damage/harm the LGBTQ community. I am new to mormon stories and John Dehlins work and so I may have miss understood, I am open to that. Growing up in the LDS faith I understand the pressure placed on you as an individual (I have only just had my first cup of coffee this year!) but can that be used to excuse behaviour that's only intention is to damage/harm another human being or group?

That's what actually happens, at least 99% of the time. The story she tells, only seems to happen on Ex-Mormon sites in my experiences. A mom touching the daughter with sacred oil and the Bishop asking her to describe how she masturbates is definitely not the church I knew. Fake Mormon porn sites and stories is a thing and fantasy for some.

If you haven't noticed yet "simply believe" isn't church doctrine. If you want a testimony of prophets and the Lord’s gospel you must experience personally THE ROCK OF REVELATION. "As the Lord built his Church upon the rock of revelation so that it would endure, I think we ourselves as individuals must stand on this same rock of revelation in our conduct, our thinking, and our lives, that we can endure; otherwise we will fall." George Q. Morris
